UnBreak My Heart Page 2

“My home,” I say trying to pull her back to me. It’s getting darker and we’re both soaked to the bone, I also want a chance to explore this attraction between us.

  Chapter 3

  I Can Finally Breathe

“But my car,” I protest pulling away to look at him, “Is the other direction. I must get home.”

He smiles pulling me back to his chest and I go willingly. In my panicked state, I can’t believe I’m allowing him to say and do the things he has so far. One look into his beautiful blue eyes, and I’m lost. Andrew is like a waking dream. Dirty blonde hair, deep blue eyes, that sparkle with just a hint of mischief in them, lean muscular frame that he hid under a well molded suit; he is beautiful.

“Let me get you warm and feed you,” he whispers next to my ear.

“Andrew, as much as I want to say yes,” I start to explain, “I have a son I need to get home to.”

His face goes serious. This is it. This is where I get blown off, told some story, and I never see him again. I always knew this was how it would be once they find out I’m a package deal.

“Then he must be you first priority,” he says, “I’ll send someone to collect your car tomorrow. Where do you live?”

I sit there, my face pressed into Andrews’s chest. I can feel the beating of his heart and I can’t believe what I just heard. I want to answer, but I can’t seem to find my voice.

“Mary?” Andrew calls as his arms tighten around me, “Did the cat get your tongue beautiful girl?”

‘He thinks I’m beautiful,’ I think. I smile and tell him my address. Maybe I have found the only man on Earth that would accept me as a package deal.

His driver must have heard because he makes a U-turn and starts in the direction of my house.

Beginning to feel awkward I say, “I think I’m warm now.” Then I slide off his lap. He frowns and leans over to buckle my seatbelt.

Leaning close to my ear he whispers, “You think that was warm, beautiful girl? Just wait until I’m inside of you. When I surround you, consume you, I will be all you can think about. I promise you that.”

I gasp and I’m sure I’m a nice shade of red. “Andrew, you can’t talk like that to me,” I scold him.

He smirks as he slips a stray hair behind my ear. “And why is that, beautiful girl,” he questions.

I fidget with my hands in my lap. Should I tell him? Shit, we just met, but if there is anything here, he will find out soon enough, right? I sigh and square my shoulders. I need all the strength I can muster. “First, no one has ever spoken like that to me,” I explain, “Second, it’s been four years since I last had sex. My panties are drenched and I don’t know how much more I can take.”

The look on his beautiful face at that moment is priceless, so much so that I can’t help laughing. It is a look of confusion, shock, panic, and surprise. His face is twisted so much, I think for a second he may pass out.

He pulls me close, resting his forehead on mine and smirks. “You think my reaction is funny, beautiful girl,” he asks in a low and husky voice. I nod, still laughing. “You won’t be laughing when my cock is deep inside you and my mouth is on those lush tits. Instead, you’ll be screaming my name.”

My laughter dries up, and a shiver rakes my body as my sex clinches. “Andrew,” I whisper, my voice breaking.

His eyes search mine as he reaches up to brush the back of his hand across my face. He swallows and says, “I could get lost in your eyes and never want to return. I just met you a minute ago yet, I don’t ever want to let you go. I am bewitched by you. I have to know what your lips taste like.” Without a chance to agree, his mouth is on mine, hot and wild. My hands go to his hair, pulling him closer as his arms circle me. He moans deep in his throat and the feeling of it has my stomach tightening and my pussy throbbing.

We drink from each other as if the mere taste can keep us alive. We are starving and sated at the same time. If he pulls away now, I will surely die. His teeth are nipping at my tongue and then he’s sucking on it as if he’s bringing it back to life. “What are you doing to me, Mary?” he asks breathless against my mouth.

Wondering the same about him I remember we aren’t alone. “Andrew,” I pant breathlessly, “We’re not alone.”

He strokes my face and my eyes flutter open to see him smiling. “Baby, the car stopped a long time ago,” he says still just as breathless, “Jackson’s been standing in the rain this whole time.”

“Oh,” I say weakly, “Does that mean you can kiss me again?” Just as I say that, he laughs. I just humiliated myself and he’s laughing.

He leans forward, placing a quick kiss to my lips. “I would like nothing more than to devour you right here, right now,” he says with a sexy as hell smile, “but I would really like to meet your son.”

My breath catches and I feel the tears start to burn my eyes. Never in a million years did I think I would ever hear a man say those words. I silently say a prayer that this man is for real and it’s not some kind of game.

“Do…” I start to ask but my voice is a damn mess, “Do you really mean that or is this some kind of ploy to get me in bed?”

His brows furrow. “Of course,” he says, “You’re a package deal, Mary. I want you, and therefore I must also want and accept your son. Besides, I happen to love kids and they love me.”

I chuckle and elbow him in his side. “Cocky much,” I ask and right away I regret it.

His face grows serious and he looks me square in the eyes. “Never before, with any woman, have I ever been this cocky, only you Mary. Only you… I wanna be your favorite hello and hardest goodbye. I know it’s crazy, but I want to be your forever, if you’ll have me.”

I smile, but my heart has stopped beating. “Let’s keep it simple for now,” I say, “If Gabe is still awake you can meet him. Just, whatever you do, don’t mention Michael, ok?”

He nods with a large smile on his face as he opens the door. Jackson is right there waiting with an umbrella and Andrew helps me from the car.

“Shall I wait, sir?” Jackson asks with the largest smile on his old face. The smile says he was very easy on the eye in his younger days.

“Please do, Jackson,” Andrew answers, “I’ll call if plans change.” Jackson nods and slips back into the car.

As we walk towards the porch, my nerves are a wreck. I never thought the day would come that I would be bringing a man home to meet Gabe, especially one I just met not an hour before.

Putting the key in the door, I plaster a cool smile on my face and pray this isn’t a dream, and that the man next to me, holding my hand, is real. Learning to live again is the hardest thing.

  Chapter 4

  Gabe

  “Mommy!”

I hear the unmistakable sound of a little boy as we step through the door. I didn’t lie to Mary, I do love kids, and most love me right back. However, none have been as important as this one.

Most people don’t believe in love at first sight. Funny enough, most men would have my ass in the street, but I’m a rare one. My parents met, and in the span of twenty-four hours, were married. I came along about a year later. Thirty-one years they have been happily married. Of course, like any normal couple, they have had their fair share of fights. My dad used to tell me that we learn and grow from the fights. If we all agreed all the time, the world would be a very boring place. Then he would laugh and elbow me in the ribs, saying that makeup sex is the best part. I would have to agree, seeing as my mom appears to be the happiest woman on the face of the planet. However, I could have done without the glimpse into their sex life.

Just then, a bobbing head of brown curls comes barreling around the corner and stops. I smile, trying to let him know that I’m not a threat and he tilts his head to study me.

“Gabe,” Mary says to him, but he never takes his eyes off of me, “I want you to meet a friend of mine, Andrew.”

Nerves rake my body as I go down on one knee. “It’s nice to meet you little man,” I
say smiling larger.

He still just looks at me. It’s obvious that when Michael died two years ago, Mary never brought other men around. ‘I have my work cut out for me,’ I think.

I’ll try another angle. I see that he has a toy in his hand. “Who is that?” I ask pointing to it. “Is that Ironman?”

His eyes light up then and he starts to smile. “You know who Ironman is?” he asks hopefully.

I look towards Mary and wink. “’Do I know Ironman,’ he asks,” I say and turn back to him, “I’ve seen all his movies and I have this action figure at home.” I lean in closer, “I also have Thor.”

Gabe’s smile grows as he starts to jump up and down. “Mommy, he knows him,” he screams, “He knows Ironman and Thor. I thought I was the only one.”

I stand back up, proud that I was able to make a connection with him.

“I heard,” she says smiling and her eyes filling with tears.

I reach over and squeeze her hand, letting her know that everything will be ok. “He speaks really well for a four year old,” I remark. “Most four year olds I know mumble most of what they say and only the parents can understand them.”

She laughs, giving my hand a squeeze back. “I need to go and see where the sitter is,” she says looking between us, “Will you two be ok alone together?”

Before I can answer, Gabe speaks, “Its ok, mommy,” he says yawning and grabs my hand, “I will take him to play in the living room.”

I laugh as Mary shakes her head. Leaning towards her I whisper, “Go do what you need to do, babe. I’ll let him watch me until you return.” Then I gave her a quick peck on the cheek.

She nods and I turn back to see Gabe watching us very closely. “Ok, little man,” I say, “Lead the way.”

Stepping into the living room I have to stop and wonder, ‘what kind of memory am I up against?’ I knew Michael was married, but he never spoken of her, just a son. Yet here I am, surrounded by images of him. Maybe it is like this for Gabe.

Just as I am about to speak, I hear a scream followed by, “Get the fuck out of my house!” It is Mary.

I look down at Gabe and he looks scared. “Go to your room and don’t come out until I tell you, ok?” I say. He nods and rushes off. Making my way towards where I heard Mary, I’m brought to a stop, forcing back a laugh, as there in front of me, spread eagle on Mary’s bed, is the babysitter. Between her legs is a young man, looking terrified. Sobering up, I walk into the room.

“You heard her,” I say in my courtroom voice, “Get dressed and get out.” Stepping closer to Mary I can see she’s seething.

She turns to look at me. “Where’s Gabe?” she asks.

“Don’t worry,” I say, “I sent him to his room before I came to check on you.” She nods and turns back.

The two are finally dressed and the girl looks at Mary with tears in her eyes. “Mary I’m…” Mary stops her by shaking her head.

“No,” she says, “For far too long I’ve listened to how sorry you always are, yet you never learn. Today, you cost me my job and now, I come home to find you fucking some guy in my bed with my son in the next room. Get your things and never come back. You’re fired, Kaylee.” The girl growls her anger and embarrassment as she grabbed the guy and runs out.

After a few seconds, Mary turns to look at me. I can see the wear on her face and in her eyes. I want to pull her close and take care of her, to make sure she never has worry in her life ever again. “I’m sorry you had to see that,” she says, and I do just that, I pull her into my arms. She sighs, wraps her arms around my waist and lays her head on my chest.

“What do you have to be sorry about,” I ask. “It’s not your fault that someone you trusted and depended on betrayed you.” I pull her closer and whisper near her ear, “I’m sorry you lost your job.”

“It’s getting late,” she says, “I haven’t eaten dinner and I’m going to assume you haven’t either. Do you want to tell Jackson he can leave?”

I’m flabbergasted. Will this woman always say or do something that will surprise me?

She pulls back, a smile playing at her lips. “I can feel what you were thinking,” she says, “And I never said I would have sex with you, tonight. I just offered dinner. If you want to stay, I have a guest room.”

I laugh. “Truthfully, I wasn’t thinking it,” I admit, “I was thinking of how you surprise me with some of what you say and do. However, I won’t apologize for my cock, he has a mind of his own and he really likes you.”

Pulling away she laughs and slaps my chest. “You really are insatiable,” she jokes, “You know that right?”

I lean in and kiss her lips. “And to think, I haven’t even had you yet,” I whisper.

She shakes her head, walking towards the door. “I’ll check on Gabe,” she says, “You send Jackson home. We’ll see about the rest after dinner.” Then she was gone.

Fuck! Since seeing her running down the sidewalk I’ve had a permanent hard-on. How in the hell will I get through the night if I can’t be inside her? I groan, pull out my cell, and send a text to Jackson. Whether I get my dick wet or not, it’s going to be the best night of my life.

  Chapter 5

  Haven’t Experienced Love

Walking into Gabe’s room, I see that he has fallen asleep, still fully clothed. I smile as I make my way over to wake him.

“Gabe,” I say softly and his little eyes flutter open, “We need to get you ready for bed, ok?”

He nods, rubbing his eyes as he sits up. “Andrew still here,” he asks quietly.

I smile and nod. “Yes,” I say.

“Good,” he says, slipping off the bed, “I like him mommy.”

I want to tear up from fear, still hoping against all hope that Andrew is for real. I’m not worried about him hurting me; I’m a big girl and would survive it. Gabe, however, wouldn’t.

“Me too sweetie,” I say. “Now change and go back to bed, ok? I’ll be back in later to check on you.” He nods and I turn and towards the door. I just realized, I’m still wearing damp clothes.

“Mommy,” Gabe says and I turn to him.

“What is it baby,” I ask. His beautiful little face is twisted with worry.

“Don’t let him leave like daddy did,” he says, “I didn’t like that.” Then, he is walking into his bathroom.

I stand there speechless. ‘What do you say to something like that,’ I think. How do I reassure my little boy when I am so unsure myself?

Squaring my shoulders and putting on a brave face, I walk out of Gabe’s room, resolved that Andrew and I will talk tonight. I need to know if he’s in it all the way or for a piece of ass. I can’t let Gabe get hurt again.

Stepping into the living room, I see that it’s empty. I walk to the front door and open it, looking out, his car is gone. Closing it, I wonder if he decided I wasn’t worth it. ‘Doesn’t matter,’ I think and head to my bedroom to change.

Problem is; it does matter. Never in my twenty-three years have I ever felt for a man what I feel for him, even in this short time. Some people talk about love at first sight; I’ve never seen it, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. “I haven’t experienced love either,” I think aloud stepping into my bedroom.

“Neither have I,” hearing Andrew’s deep, husky voice snaps me out of my fog and my head comes up, my eyes growing wide.

He’s standing between my bed, which has been striped and remade, and the closet, wearing a pair of grey sweat pants that had belonged to Michael, and nothing else. Liquid pools between my legs and my knees go weak.

  “I…,” I stutter, “I thought you left.”

He cocks his head to the side and gives me a dimpled smile, a smile that tells me that he hasn’t let me off the hook yet.

“And why would I do that?” he asks, “You promised me dinner.” I stand there, still just staring at him. ‘Is this man for real,’ I wonder. He steps closer and his smile drops. “I hope you don’t mind. My suit is still wet.”

I swallow hard and shake my head, still unable to find my voice. I may not have been in love with Michael, but I did care about him and he gave me a great gift, Gabe. It’s still hard being reminded of him.

Andrew places his hands on my shoulders and I look up at him in a daze. “Mary, get out of those wet clothes,” he says, “Then we can get a bite to eat and talk, ok?”

I nod, and leaning down, he brushes a kiss across my forehead and leaves the room. I’m left standing there staring after him. Is he really making himself at home already? I question. I can’t get upset because a part of me likes him doing it.

I quickly change into my normal sleepwear of baby doll shorts and a crop top, and then I pull my messy hair up into a bun. As I slip through the door, I grab my silk rob and slip it on, feeling too exposed. I quietly walk down the hall leading to the living room when I hear Andrew call out, “I’m in the kitchen, Mary.”

I shake my head and chuckle as I make a detour and step into the kitchen. “You really are making yourself at home aren’t you?” I say stepping over to the counter. He smirks and turns back to what he’s doing. “What are you making?”

“Cheese and mushroom omelets,” he answers then stops to look at me, “You do like omelets?”

Before I can answer, my stomach growls, loudly, and we laugh. “Very much,” I say.

He smiles and places an omelet on a plate. “Sit,” he says, “They’re almost ready.”

I chuckle as I take a seat at the kitchen table. “Not only have you made yourself at home in my house, you’re also very bossy,” I joke. “Are you like this with all the girls you get cocky with?”

He gives me a smug look as he sets our plants down on the table and leans his face close to mine. In a deep rugged voice he whispers, “Just so you know, I have never cooked for another woman, and there’s just something about you that brings out the alpha male in me. So if you think I’m being bossy now, just wait until I’m between those beautiful legs of yours.”
